The AJ Retrofit Awards recognise and celebrate design, engineering and construction excellence that prolongs and improves the life of the built environment. This year's awards took place on 11 September 2013 at The Brewery, London.
Christine Murray, Editor, Architects' Journal opened the awards, followed by a Q&A session from Paul Finch, Editorial Director of the Architects' Journal and The Architectural Review with last year's AJ Retrofit Building of the Year winner Eric Parry from Eric Parry Architects.
Before the winners were announced there was a keynote speech from Julian Harrap from Julian Harrap Architects.

The quality of work being produced in this area and submitted for the awards was once again outstanding. This just goes to show that excellent projects are being rolled out across the board to prolong the active life of buildings and infrastructure, helping the lower energy/lower carbon agenda.
